Azerbaijan has a deep heritage of carpet-weaving with a vast range of styles and regional design elements. Be aware that any larger carpet will require an export permit and older rugs can not be taken out of the country. Wine, brandy, and caviar (maximum export 125g) are also popular purchases. Baku has a dazzling selection of international designer-brand clothing boutiques.
