Its headquarters are located in Ingolstadt. In 1909, the history of this automobile giant begins, when August Horch organized a company for the cars' production. In 1910, the first car of the Audi-A company was released. In 1965, Volkswagen bought out a controlling stake in Audi. One of the large-scale developments made by the company's specialists was the proprietary all-wheel drive, which was equipped with the Audi 80 Quattro in 1982. The 90s were filled with technological innovations for the company. For the production car A8, they made an aluminum body, for the A6 they created a CVT with a metal belt.
