Mysterious nature, natural geographical position, rich flora, and fauna have recognized Masalli as a tourist destination in our country. No one who comes to Masalli can be indifferent to the different landscapes created by the Caspian Sea, the Talish mountain range, the Vilash River, healing springs, and small lakes.
A part of "Kızılağac State Nature Reserve", which is one of the largest and richest reserves of the republic, and Istisu are located in this region. The "Kızilağac" tree, one of the rarest trees in the world, and some endangered animals are protected in the reserve.
6-7 kilometers from the town of Masalli, Talysh mountains and rich forests can be seen, which are green in spring and summer, and golden in autumn. Since it has a subtropical climate, the amount of precipitation falling in Masalli is more than in other places of the region. Frequent rain adds romantic colors to Talysh forests. In autumn, all the colors of nature can be seen in Talysh forests. Istisu forests, where the colors are concentrated, are 12 km away from the district center. Hidden deep in the forest, the surroundings of the waterfalls are cool, so it becomes a picnic spot for people in the summer months.
Istisu village of the region is famous for its healing waters. It is located 13 kilometers away from the city of Masalli, at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level, on the breast of Dambalov mountain, on the bank of Vilash River.
The temperature of hot water coming from underground is 69 degrees naturally. Local residents have used water rich in useful chemical elements for healing purposes since ancient times. It is also famous for the Istisu waterfalls.
It is recommended to go in spring, autumn, and winter to feel all the beauty of the heat. If it is difficult to stand in the bath for more than 3-5 minutes in the hot summer heat, it is possible to swim in the pool for hours in cool weather.
The construction of recreation centers and tourist facilities that meet modern requirements, and the renewal of road infrastructure led to an influx of tourists to this region.
