Khachmaz DESTINATION
Khachmaz is a region of Azerbaijan distinguished by its ancient history, rich culture, and beautiful nature, and is considered one of the tourism centers.
Khachmaz region borders the Russian Federation to the north and the Caspian Sea to the east. The "Yalama-Nabran" seaside zone of the region is famous as a big tourist zone. Nabran - the center of beach tourism is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, 229 kilometers from Baku and 43 kilometers from the administrative center of Khachmaz district. Nabran settlement is perhaps the most famous resort area of Azerbaijan.
Khudat - fortress-city. The ancient city of Khudat, located in the Khachmaz district, was the capital of the Guba Khanate and a strong fortification at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1735, the city lost its importance when Fatali Khan moved his residence to Guba. When visiting Khudat, be sure to visit the thermal baths with healing hot mineral waters.
The famous Shollar water line, which takes its source from the village of Shollar here, was commissioned in 1917 and still plays an important role in the drinking water supply of the capital of Azerbaijan.

During archaeological expeditions, 28 mounds belonging to the ancient Turks, which are about 4 thousand years old, were discovered in the region.
The special pride of Khacmaz is Heydar Aliyev Park. Taking into account the intensive movement of traffic, two 24-meter-long pedestrian crossings decorated with a special mosaic were built on the avenue to ensure the free and safe movement of people.
One of the fountains in the park is shaped like a samovar with a height of 12 meters. The symbolism of the aromatic drink, occupies a prominent place in Azerbaijani culture and this is not accidental. So, it was in Khachmaz, in the village of Janakhir, in 1982 an ancient samovar of the III-II century BC was discovered in the kurgan. A traditional oil lamp was also found with it.
Chanlibel Park, which takes its name from the "Koroghlu" epic, is one of Khachmaz's attractions. The central figure of the park is the monument of Koroglu.
More than 60 historical and cultural monuments are under protection in the region.
