Agsu

 When looking around from here in clear weather, a beautiful view of the Shirvan valley opens. Travelers are impressed by the magnificent views of these places. And when it's covered in heavy fog, everyone who drives here thinks they're moving through the clouds.

The city of Agsu, the administrative center of the region, is located 37 km southwest of Shamakhi, on the bank of the Agsu River. The climate is mild-hot and dry subtropical in the plains. In the mountainous areas, the summer is slightly cool, and the winter is relatively cold and dry.

The mountainous area is forest and thickets. The famous nightingale flower, considered one of the symbols of Karabakh, has always been found in the mountainous areas of the Agsu region (especially in the Bico mountains).

A part of Shahdag National Park (former Pirgulu State Nature Reserve) is located in the Agsu region. Dilman waterfall (Dilman village) and Agsu pass are very beautiful geological and landscape natural monuments.

Carpets woven in Bico, Pirhasanli, and Gashad villages of Agsun are very famous, especially Bico carpets, which are one of the most famous compositions of the Shirvan carpet weaving school.

Agsu region is the homeland of Bico carpets, which are considered to be rare pearls of the cultural history of Azerbaijan, known as the most famous composition of the Shirvan carpet weaving school. The Bico carpet is named after the village of Bico, which is currently included in the administrative-territorial unit of the district. Bico carpets attracted attention with their national color and complex ornament composition. In the first variant, the most famous of the Bico carpets, which are mainly woven in two varieties, the composition of the middle field consists of ornaments filled with dotted lines
