Warsaw is the capital of Poland, the largest city by area and population. In 1596, after the fire in Wawel Castle of King Sigismund III, he moved his residence to Warsaw. Its status as the capital was first reflected in the Constitution of Poland in 1791. The Vistula River flows through the city.
