Historically, the territory of Masalli belonged to the ancient states of Manna and Atropatena. To get acquainted with the history of Masalli, it is enough to visit the (Hishkadara) Museum of History and Local Studies. More than 19,000 valuable exhibits related to the past of the region have been collected in the museum.
The area with a subtropical climate is rich in sulfur springs of therapeutic value.
There is a small lake in a dense forest a little far from the city. This is one of the places where the townspeople and guests relax. The part of the Vilash River passing through the city area is intended as a picnic area.
Masalli area is home to 168 ancient, mysterious monuments, castles, palaces, sanctuaries, baths, springs, and abodes. 51 of them are historical and architectural monuments, 70 are archaeological monuments, and the rest are 20th-century monuments.
There is a bathhouse and mosque built in the 19th century, Erkivan tower, mosques in the villages of Boradigah and Digah (15th century), and Seyid Sadikh's tomb in the district.
